01 What does Norton TV do for its cable subscribers?

Norton Community Television provides a local community access production facility for the utilization of the citizens of Norton. We provide training in equipment usage and free access to these tools. Additionally we maintain control over the distribution and scheduling of locally-produced content for broadcast on channels 9, 15, and 98 as well as several online on-demand video platforms.

02 Who pays for our facilities?

Comcast gives us a 4% share of cable fees paid by Norton’s subscribership.

03 Who is in charge of Norton TV?

The all-volunteer board of directors, who serve as members of the non-profit corporation and administrate its funding and policies.

04 How do I borrow equipment from NCTV?

Fill out an equipment request form, attend 1 training orientation, and come pick it up!

05 How do I get my own show?

Write a proposal for the show, outlining what you intend to produce. Commit to a production schedule with the studio director. Show up .and make some TV!

06 Can I advertise on your channel for my services?

Yes. Telvue is currently looking for sponsorships for channel 98. Give them a call at 1-856-273-8888.

07 What if I want my non-profit's event covered by NCTV?

Email events@nortontv.org with your request at least two weeks prior to the event date. Be aware that written confirmation is necessary to guarantee taping.

08 What systems do you use to edit?

We use Mac’s running Final Cut Pro 2.

09 What kind of production equipment do you use?

We shoot with Panasonic DVX200’s, use Firestore DTE's, and feature an all-digital file-based broadcast server infrastructure.

10 How do I get my show from another town broadcast on your channels?

Send your DVD to NCTV 66 West Main St Norton, MA 02766.

11 How do I post an announcement on channel15?

For channel 15 you can email info@nortontv.org. Once you email us you will receive a auto response with our submission guidelines.

12 I saw the screen freeze for an hour last night. Who do I call?
